Allen Brook Physical Education

Allen Brook School is a school comprised of students ranging in ages from Early Essential Education to Second Grade.  Physical Education is provided for students at all levels.  The frequency and length of class time vary by age level.

Frequency and Length of Class
  • Early Essential Education - 1 class per week at 30 minutes per class
  • Kindergarten - 2 classes per week at 40 minute class periods
  • First and Second Grade - 2 classes per week at 40 minute class periods
Each year Allen Brook School holds a Jump Rope for Heart Event in March.  This event is open to all students at ABS in grades 1 and 2.  In addition Williston Central School comes to Allen Brook for this event and they bring third through 8th grade students.   This is a wonderful community event.   We have been very lucky to have tremendous parental support for this event.  On the day of the jump we have approximately 250 students in the gymnasium for about 3 hours.  The event is filled with fun, fitness and excitement and it teaches the students about philanthropy.

Allen Brook School has a walking program.  This program is designed to get our students moving and provide students with an additional option for movement at recess.  They also get additional credit for getting their families engaged and moving.

In June the Allen Brook first and second grade participate in Fun Day.  This event is held at Williston Central School.  The students in grades 5 - 8 help to run and monitor stations for a fun filled morning for our students.  It is a great culminating activity for the PE year.

ALLEN BROOK SCHOOL RECEIVED A LET'S MOVE ACTIVE SCHOOLS NATIONAL RECOGNITION AWARD FOR BOTH 2014 AND 2015!
